Goodies purchased Sunday at "Gros". The grapefruit juice is great.

Yum. Most of the items are unidentifiable to me, but I think I see cheese, bread, and wine, which together are the essence of many ancient diets. (That's what we bought in Mexico.) How fortunate that the shops were open on Sunday. I see (from one of your friends' comments) that there are a Bavarian and a Chinese restaurant in town, besides the pizza joint -- so you can explore two more cuisines while in Kazakhstan!
Hello and greetings! The apartment sounds nice and I found that having the ability to make dinner was a great option. Did you bring enough warm clothes? Being on the other side of the emails is really cool, because I am remembering aspects of getting Nikki. Please tell Dina that Nikki (Dilnaz!) is doing very well, and ask her to tell Dr. Alma and the staff at the Astana baby home. I remember the yogurt was delicious from the Ram Store - is there a Ram store in town? Have you met other couples. I can't wait to hear more.
As I looked at the cabinet next to your stove, I was immediately struck by the fact that it was identical to Jim's cabinets in Mexico City. All of us former Ohioans love that snow.
M & R - - We've got a full moon, or nearly full tonight. I think of AN AMERICAN TALE, and know you're out there somewhere. Hope to see you ALL soon. - - P ('n' K)

Hugs, Katy and Nikki.
